What is the eligibility criteria for an Australian Apprenticeship?

An Australian Apprentice must be:

  • Minimum 15 years old
  • Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • Employed full time or part time (not casual)

What documentation is required from the employer?

  • Legal Name (company registration)
  • Trading name (ACT business registration)
  • Australian Business Number (ABN)
  • Employer qualifications for particular area of trade training
  • If you are a Trust, only the Trustee of the Trust can be registered (obtained from your Trust Deed)

How do I find an Australian Apprentice?

Contact Phil McGilvray on (02) 6241 2969, he will work with you to find the right Australian Apprentice for your organisation.

Alternatively, Job Network Members can advise you of suitable potential employees, and advertise your requirements on a National Vacancy Database (through Centrelink). This is a free service.

Our Group Training Company can also assist you. Group Training is an arrangement where Australian Apprentices are employed by RGT’s Group Training Company and hosted out to other businesses while they are undertaking their training.
