How is my pay calculated?

Australian Apprenticeships wages vary according to the vocation of the Australian Apprentice, the type of Australian Apprenticeship and the industry or occupation. There is a National Training Wage Award that is the minimum requirement for paying a trainee in an approved training contract. This award is always linked to a parent award which will outline all the industrial issues under which you are employed.

What personal benefits am I entitled to as an Australian Apprentice?

Australian Apprentices may be able to claim some financial assistance during their Apprenticeship, depending on certain eligibility criteria. There are various wage assistance schemes available for Apprentices enrolled in a Skills Needs qualification (the list of Skills Needs qualifications can be found here) for Apprentices living away from home in order to complete their Apprenticeship, for Apprentices with a disability, or for Apprentices aged 30 years or over.
